A website has revealed that British Member of Parliament John McDonnell once called for dual Israeli-British citizens to be stripped of their British citizenship if they served in the Israeli army.
This is the same punishment reserved for Britons who fought for ISIS, the Islamic terror group.
“Will you be warning any British citizens considering engagement with the IDF that such engagement may put their British citizenship in jeopardy?” McDonnell wrote in a 2014 letter to Theresa May. “Given the seriousness of the current situation in Gaza and the apparent escalation of the Israeli attacks on Palestinians, I urge you to address these questions promptly so that any British citizen currently participating or planning to participate in these attacks is warned of the potential consequences and thus may be deterred from acting in this way.”
The letter, now deleted by McDonnell’s team, was uncovered by the Guido Fawkes website which said it was there for three years.
“This was at the height of the barbaric bombing and attacks on Gaza when hundreds of Palestinian men, women and children were being killed,” defended a Labour spokesman. “For those holding joint citizenship it does not entail making them stateless.” Of course, the spokesman forgot that Hamas started the war by sending thousands of rockets at Israel.
This news comes as the Labour party is reeling from an exodus of party members appalled by apparent anti-Semitism among its members. Ian Austin became the ninth MP to leave Labour in the last week saying he was “ashamed” of Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership and of the party itself.
“Jeremy Corbyn and the people around him have … created a culture of extremism, intolerance and bullying,” he told the Guardian.
More than 50 complaints of anti-Semitic social media posts have been lodged against Labour members in the last week.
“Wonder why Jewish people are hated wherever they’ve settled over last 2000 years: their double dealing, back stabbing, cheating chilling coldness has always only one outcome,” read one of the tweets. “I wonder what the average period of time is before people fed up with the anti-social Jews kick em out.”
Other Twitter posts by Labour members linked Adolf Hitler and the Rothschilds, accused Jews of murdering children and questioned whether Jewish members of parliament have “human blood.”
Labour leader Corbyn’s own track record on Israel, his friendship with Iran and other Arab states has been quite dubious. Corbyn once referred to his “friends in Hezbollah” and “Friends in Hamas,” both notorious terror organizations.
