Introduction
The Brownsville revival began in 1995 and continued unabated for five years, as millions of people from all over the world came to have their faith renewed. In this article (originally written as a paper for The King's University), I hope to survey the origins of the revival, examine its fruit, and discuss why and how it ended. We will look at the preparations for the awakening and the events leading up to it. We will investigate the connection to other renewal movements, like Toronto. We will hear from all the key leaders. And finally, we will graciously address the split that brought the revival to an end.
