Israel in Crisis

Writer's pictureRon Cantor

God did not PASS OVER homes in Egypt! Wait? What?

Okay, let me rephrase, that...I don't think God passed over the homes of the Israelites in Egypt. I will explain in the video.

Tomorrow, at sundown, we will gather around the table and share a special meal and tell a miraculous story—an act that has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years! For Jews and those who follow the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua, Passover is a special time of year. But this year, I am hoping to make it something MORE—Happy Hovering Day!

What are you talking about, Ron?!

Hang in there with me. I recently did a teaching about this idea. So join me as we take an in-depth look at the word Pesach (What we translate, or mistranslate, as 'Passover') and what the Scripture is REALLY telling us. And trust me, by the end of it, you will want to wish EVERYONE a Happy Hovering Day!

Excellent word study! Thank you, Ron. I also get the image of a soccer goalie ‘wavering’ to and fro, or hovering (pasach) in front of the goal line ready to step in and stop a shot at any time

I am so with you, brother Ron! I also thought of Genesis 1:2, as Joseph in the 2nd comment already said, and also Deuteronomy 32:11. I am glad that somebody is trying to shake us out of the Strong's-Concordance-Is-The Ultimate-Study-Source mindset. There is so much beautifully radical understanding to be gained by the kind of searching of the Scriptures as you give an example of here.

I am still with you! Another place to look at is the very 2nd verse of Genesis, GOD was hovering at the surface of the deep, the deep waters are pretty synonimous to danger, but, no problem with GOD who hovers it and even cut it open for Israelite to pass (Exodus 14-15)!
